2/19/2021 0 Comments 2/19/21 magazine revisionI made a few changes to my magazine in order to include more information and to make it more visually appealing. In order to better capture the purpose of my magazine more clearly, I changed the title of my magazine to “PopTrending”. It is catchy and conveys the idea that the magazine will discuss the trending aspects of music and pop culture. I also changed the coloring of the words in order to make certain phrases and elements stand out better, while also avoiding clashing. I adjusted the spacing and even fixed the aligning to ensure the cover is visually appealing. In addition, I further included a new indicator on the cover drawing the audience in over the exclusive interview with Billie Eilish. I kept the same image from my first magazine cover because I feel like the colors and the clarity of the picture match well. BEFORE: AFTER:

2/17/2021 0 Comments 2/17/21 Critical question mediaThe continuing development of digital media technology has completely transformed the media institutions and audiences in a variety of ways. The changing digital media technology has altered how media has been produced and distributed affecting all aspects of the media world. Technology has allowed media to be more easily and efficiently produced in the way that it is less time consuming and can be done from anywhere in the world, Due to the fact that media is produced through the changing digital technologies, it requires people who are skilled in the field of computers and digital work. Another aspect of the media world that has evolved is the distribution of the media. The media can be more widely spread and accessible to people all around the world. Although these positive effects of the technologies occur, there are also negative effects. Many businesses and corporations have failed to adapt to the changing technological world and are shutting down due to the losses. Also, there is more competition now due to the fact that more people have more access to these digital media technologies.
2/12/2021 0 Comments 2/13/21 critical questionI integrated technologies by utilizing several online applications to create my magazine. I designed my magazine through the use of InDesign and other free online resources that allowed me to create layouts for my project. I was able to manipulate multiple elements of my project and fine-tune its aspects to properly translate the product I was visualizing in my head into the real world. I also integrated technologies by searching for ideas and inspiration for my project over the internet on google. This allowed for the discovery of important information and helped to facilitate my creativity. These technologies were vital to the success of my project because they were necessary to the design of the virtual magazine and further gave me access to the resources needed to create a project that would engage audiences. It gave me the opportunity to create my project in a visually appealing way.
2/11/2021 0 Comments 2/11/21 first double page spreadI created my first draft for the two page article that needs to be submitted for my magazine. I did an interview with Billie Eilish because she is an icon for teenagers who are interested in music and that is who I am trying to appeal to with my product.
2/4/2021 0 Comments 2/4/21 Planning the articleMy article going to be written for the teenagers who enjoy music because I want it to appeal to that specific age range and population. The love and passion for music is what is important to my audience. I know that my audience will care deeply about the events and artists involved in the music industry due to their shared love for music. The relevant news currently trending is that Billie Eilish is on the rise as a musical star, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello are currently dating, and Harry Styles is set to perform at the American Music Awards in 2021. With that in mind, my interview is going to be an exclusive look at Billie Eilish’s life as an upcoming and trending music star in modern day society. I feel that my audience will find It interesting because it may inspire them to follow in Billie’s steps or find it fascinating as fans. I am going to start with a quote from Billie’s interview where she refers to herself in order to set up for the rest of the article. This quote may be along the lines of, “I have always dreamed of doing interviews and playing live shows in front of millions of fans.” I will then describe who Billie is and how she is relevant in the music industry today. I then plan on asking and answering the following questions throughout the article with a narrational tone, “How long have you been playing music for?”, “What inspired your love and passion for music?”, “When did you first realize that you were becoming more well-known?”, “What was your first performance like?”, “What would you say to the fans right now if you could say when thing?”, “What is the biggest obstacle you have faced on your career path?” I will use either of the following pictures on the left side of the page to provide the audience with an image of what the artist looks like.

After looking at a two-page article featuring an interview with Adam Lambert, I have decided that I would like to design my article in a similar way. I liked how the article was laid out with a picture of Adam on one page and the content of the interview on the other page. I plan on putting a picture of an upcoming artist on one page surrounded by some of the most interesting quotes and detailing the topics discussed in the exclusive interview on the other page. I felt that the narrational tone of the example sounded professional and was entertaining in a way that kept the reader interested. I think that this will work well for my article and feel that using quotes the way that the example did would be most effective in conveying ideas. The author of the example clearly conveys an abundance of information on the artist because they are able to write about the artist providing background information gathered from the interview and then support their statements through quoted material. I will most likely follow that same layout of providing the audience with information about the upcoming artist and then supporting it with relevant quotes from the actual interview. The example also included a picture in the middle of the text that was written in order to make it more visually appealing. I am going to do the same thing where I include a picture of the upcoming artist actually answering the questions being discussed in the magazine. Some questions that I plan on including in my article about an interview will be “How long have you been playing music for?”, “What inspired your love and passion for music?”, “When did you first realize that you were becoming more well-known?”, “What was your first performance like?”, “What would you say to the fans right now if you could say when thing?”, “What is the biggest obstacle you have faced on your career path?” and more. The example intrigues the audience with an optimistic tone and through positive word choice, which will be reflected in my own piece. The third person point of view allows for effective narration to occur, which presents information in a way that is easy to understand.
